“I finally exhaled after the pain that these last four years have brought to those I love. But this election cycle has been extremely difficult for many communities in this country. Trump will no longer be president, but the election of Vice President Biden and Senator Harris will not solve the deeply rooted and interconnected problems of white supremacy, mass incarceration, corporatism and imperialism in our country. The pain we’ve felt isn’t going to magically disappear in January. While we can celebrate a small victory for some of our basic rights, it is important to remember that not everyone benefits from those rights, and that healing America goes beyond this win, and beyond electoral politics.”
